AIM Authoring

AIM Author Support Documents

Presently, AIMs are sought in areas such as the following:

  • Universal Design for Learning (especially in large classes)
  • Assistive Technology
  • Distance Learning
  • Use of technology to address an instructional challenge
  • Case Studies of how to create and/or employ accessible course materials for students with  disabilities
  • Others as appropriate

It is important that AIM resources exemplify as well as explicate their topic. It is also essential for AIMs to be fully accesible. Successful authors may be eligible to receive a stipend and/or letters of recognition for creative/scholarly achievement (see campus coordinator).

Before, developing a proposal, authors should consult the AIM Guidelines. In addition, you may wish to see examples in the existing EnACT AIM Library

Those wishing to create an AIM should follow this sequence (links to forms are included):

  1. Author(s) completes Author Proposal Form and submits to Campus Coordinator for review.
  2. Campus Coordinator reviews Author Proposal Form and consults with author(s) to complete Campus Coordinator Review Form. Campus Coordinator forwards both Author Proposal Form and the approved Campus Coordinator Review form to Janet Hardcastle for review by the Grant Management Team.
  3. Jim Fouché works with author(s) to verify all issues including publishing and linking (or posting) to the website have been addressed and clarified.  Jim Fouché completes Grant Management Team review and forwards to Janet Hardcastle for development of Author Agreement (see sample).
  4. Janet Hardcastle prepares Author Agreement and sends to Campus Coordinator.
  5. Author(s) and Campus Coordinator sign Author Agreement. Campus Coordinator sends signed copy to Janet Hardcastle.
  6. Author(s) completes AIM and has it ready for linking from (or posting to) the EnACT website:
  •
    • All Visual/Audio Release Forms have been received by Janet Hardcastle.
    • Jim Fouché verifies that AIM is completed and ready for posting.
    • Author(s) posts AIM to the MERLOT website.
    • Jim Fouché creates link to AIM on the EnACT website
  1. Payment is processed by campus after the AIM is linked and/or posted to the EnACT and MERLOT websites (See AIM  Guidelines).
